Introduction

Welcome to the website of the Project "Surface water quality assessment using effect-based methods in the context of the Water Framework Directive", whose main objective is to develop a methodology for assessing the status of waters using selected effect-based methods that are recommended for inclusion in the Water Framework Directive. The proposed methodology will be used to assess the ecotoxicological status of surface waters and, when integrated into the existing water monitoring programmes, it will guide the subsequent identification of the substances of concern.

On the website you will find mainly information about the Project and the issues addressed. The information about the progress of the Project will be added gradually and the results and outcomes will also be made available in the Project´s more advanced phase.

The Project SS03010140 is being implemented with the financial support of the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic within Environment for Life - the Programme for Support of Applied Research and Experimental Development.
